The scale of the photograph Energy is uncertain, and this is one of the reasons I return to it year after year. The forms that you see are as I first witnessed them. There are no double takes or sophisticated tricks of the studio. The bite of red, the facing lamps, the minimal composition, the letterbox of its dimension, all continue to delight the eye and fire my curiosity. This was the beating heart of the London Olympic complex where energy spread out along the countless tentacles that served as the spectacle of the world for a few short weeks in July and August, 2012, and that came to be known as the friendly games.
