High rise flats in a city send the eye searching for an anchor.
My eye continually searches the boundaries of this photograph for evidence the lines are not parallel. There is something disorienting about the structure, but I tell myself that this is a real building, so my feeling that something is off must be about the way the visual elements are interacting, much like they do in Op Art. Optical art is an abstract art style that uses optical illusions through precisely arranged geometric patterns, lines, and colors to create sensations of movement, vibration, swelling, or warping in a still image.
