Frozen Wilderness

A wilderness of endless ice-blue snow and mountains stretch into the far distance, with wispy cloud and a low white sun crossing the cold north sky.

We sometimes look at an image and ask ourselves "but is it real?" - the truth is that reality is as uncertain an idea as the name of a sound. A photo is no more real than a painting, is no more real than a movie. Is a place real if you are not present? Are we confined by the evidense of our senses? Do we experience the same place differently depending on our nature, our nurture, our state of mind?

A fictional landscape allows me to express and reflect upon the full force of nature's beauty. It is one of many ways that helps me to remember our world.
